The Ferrari Dino 268 SP is one of the most fascinating and bittersweet chapters in Ferrari's early 1960s racing history. Developed in 1962 as part of Ferrari's ambitious SP sports prototype family — alongside the 196SP, 246SP and 248SP — the 268 SP was equipped with a 2,645cc V8 engine producing 265 horsepower, designed to contest the World Sportscar Championship. Car #28 was entrusted to the legendary Rodriguez brothers, Pedro and Ricardo, at the 1962 24 Hours of Le Mans — a deeply poignant entry in motorsport history, as Ricardo Rodriguez would tragically lose his life just months later at the Mexican Grand Prix aged just 20, making this car a monument to a golden and heartbreaking era of racing.
