Five 750 GT Zagatos finished the 1957 Mille Miglia, and one of them won its class outright. The 750 Zagato paired a tuned 747 cc Abarth engine with Zagato's signature lightweight aluminium body — the famous "double bubble" roof, twin bumperettes, and rear-mounted engine intakes — built on a Fiat 600 floorpan stripped down to almost nothing else. At 535 kg, the little car could run close to 100 mph, punching well above its 750 cc class.
Car #52 is one of that small group of 750 Zagatos that took on Italy's most demanding road race in 1957 — outright proof that small displacement and serious engineering could outrun far bigger machinery on the right day.
