BBR BBRC255 | 1:43 Ferrari 488 GT Modificata | Yellow / Grey | Club Competizioni GT Livery | Limited 292 pcs — What Happens When Ferrari Engineers Are Freed from the Rulebook

Every GT racing car that bears the Ferrari name is shaped, at least in part, by the rules it must obey. Engine power capped by Balance of Performance regulations. Aerodynamics constrained by FIA technical specifications. Weight floors imposed by championship regulations. These are the boundaries within which even Ferrari's most accomplished race engineers must operate. The 488 GT Modificata asks a single question: what if those limits simply did not exist?

Announced in November 2020, the 488 GT Modificata is a strictly track-only machine developed as a synthesis of the two most successful Ferrari GT racers ever built — the 488 GT3, winner of over 350 races and 630 podiums in national and international competition, and the 488 GTE, winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship titles in both drivers' and manufacturers' classes. With no FIA rulebook to answer to, Ferrari's engineers were able to extract approximately 700 cv from the familiar 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged 90° V8, around 100 cv more than the regulated GT3 and GTE variants. This was achieved through new engine internals and component materials shared directly with the racing engine, a new control system, higher turbocharger speeds, and more extreme high-performance mapping — all without, Ferrari insists, any compromise to the brand's proverbial reliability.

The aerodynamic package was developed and validated on the Nürburgring Nordschleife — one of the most demanding circuits on earth. The brief was clear: maximum downforce at the front without increasing overall drag. The result is an aerodynamic configuration that generates over 1,000 kg of downforce at 230 km/h, a figure that translates to multiple seconds of lap time advantage over the cars from which it is derived. The body, like the 488 GTE from which it takes its suspension geometry, is almost entirely carbon fibre — aluminium is used only for the roof and structural uprights. The braking system was developed with Brembo and pairs low residual torque callipers from world championship machinery with the ABS system of the 488 GT3 Evo 2020.

Access to the real car is as exclusive as its specification: the 488 GT Modificata was initially made available only to drivers who had actively participated in Ferrari Competizioni GT or Club Competizioni GT programmes in recent years. It competes in Club Competizioni GT events at circuits including Monza, Watkins Glen, Suzuka and the Nürburgring — bringing together the most historically significant Ferrari GT racing cars in a setting unlike any other motorsport series.

BBR Models of Saronno renders this extraordinary machine in their Concept43 format, in the striking Yellow and Grey Club Competizioni GT livery that defines the car's visual identity. Designed entirely in Italian laboratories and assembled to BBR's 25-year standard of precision, with aerodynamic parts produced in special steel for accuracy of form that resin alone cannot achieve. Limited to 292 pieces worldwide, presented in BBR's signature one-piece plexiglass showcase, brand new and factory sealed.

This piece ships direct from Japan, carefully double-boxed for safe international delivery.
