The Ferrari SF90 Spider is not simply a convertible version of a powerful car — it is the most technologically ambitious open-top road car Ferrari has ever produced. Unveiled in November 2020 as the open-top companion to the SF90 Stradale, the Spider inherits every element of the coupe's record-breaking hybrid architecture and wraps it in the additional pleasure of open-air driving, made possible by an aluminium Retractable Hard Top that opens or closes in just 14 seconds — operable even on the move, at low speed.

The powertrain at the heart of the SF90 Spider represents the full state of Ferrari's hybrid art. A 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged 90° V8, designated F154 FA and producing 780 PS at 7,500 rpm, is joined by three electric motors — two mounted on the front axle for torque vectoring, one between the engine and gearbox — delivering a combined system output of 1,000 cv (986 hp). The result is a car that covers 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 340 km/h, while still offering up to 26 kilometres of pure electric running. Four drive modes — eDrive, Hybrid, Performance and Qualify — are selected via the eManettino on the steering wheel, reflecting the SF90's direct lineage from Ferrari's Formula 1 programme. On the Fiorano test circuit, the SF90 Spider bettered the lap time of the LaFerrari, making it the fastest road-legal Ferrari on its own home circuit at the time of its launch.
