The Citroën DS was the natural choice for ambulance duty in its era — no other car could match its hydropneumatic suspension for carrying patients smoothly at speed. Dutch coachbuilder Visser built some of the finest DS-based ambulances of all, and this 1975 DS21 served the port city of Den Helder in the Netherlands, its extended coachwork a masterpiece of specialist conversion.
This 1/43 scale resin model by Matrix (MX40304-092) faithfully recreates the Visser ambulance with its distinctive lengthened body, period emergency fittings, and finely printed markings. Brand new in its original display case and box.
A wonderfully unusual subject for collectors of Citroën, emergency vehicles, and Dutch coachbuilding history.
