The Honda S2000 was conceived as the centerpiece of Honda's 50th anniversary celebrations and arrived in 1999 as the company's first front-engine, rear-drive sports car since the S800 had gone out of production in 1970 — a nearly three-decade absence that made its return genuinely newsworthy. The car was built around a principle of maximum driver engagement: the High X-bone frame delivered closed-car-equivalent rigidity in an open-top two-seater, the steering column was fixed without tilt adjustment, and the dashboard omitted a glovebox entirely. The naturally aspirated F20C produced 250 horsepower from 2.0 liters — an output per liter that was extraordinary for a production road engine — while the later AP2 expanded displacement to 2.2 liters for the torque and usability refinements that defined the car's final years from 2003 to 2009. The AP2 in Grand Prix White is one of the most iconic and collected configurations of the entire S2000 run, a color that has always read as definitively correct on the car's restrained, character-line-free body.

Make Up EIDOLON's EM677K was built from two layers of 3D scanning: first the original 1999 AP1 was scanned to establish the base body geometry, then an AP2 was scanned separately to identify every panel and detail change, with those differences overlaid onto the AP1 data to produce the final AP2 master. Because the S2000's deliberately understated surfaces can appear flat when reduced to scale with paint applied, EIDOLON applied visual optimization throughout — tightening edges where crispness reads as hardness in the real car, softening curves where the interior trim material demands a different impression. The open cockpit interior is fully developed, with material-specific surface treatment throughout, and the convertible top is supplied as two interchangeable components — a closed roof piece and an open tonneau cover — allowing the owner to display either configuration. Wheels are cast in white metal from brass-machined masters, enabling the fine spoke geometry that resin casting cannot achieve, and the front and rear lamp clusters went through multiple prototype rounds before reaching production.

With only 50 pieces made worldwide in this color, the EM677K is one of the tightest editions EIDOLON has produced for the S2000 series — a collector's piece that will resonate strongly with Honda enthusiasts, JDM roadster collectors, and serious 1/43 Japanese resin collectors alike.
