This CMR CMR12004 is a 1/12 scale fully pre-built resin model, reproducing the BMW M1 Procar in the #5 specification of the 1979 Procar Series as associated with Nelson Piquet — at CMR's largest production scale, commanding the physical display presence that one of the era's most visually distinctive racing cars demands. The M1 Procar's characteristic widebody Group 4 architecture — the flared wheel arch extensions, the front and rear spoilers, the NACA duct hood treatment, and the proportionally dramatic overall form that Giorgetto Giugiaro designed for the M1 road car and BMW Motorsport developed for competition — is reproduced with the surface fidelity and livery accuracy that resin construction at 1/12 scale enables. A Marlboro sponsor decal sheet is included separately, allowing the collector to complete the period-correct livery decoration to their own specification. As a resin model there are no opening mechanisms. Manufactured in 2020, this is a now well-established and increasingly sought-after release from CMR's 1/12 program.
An essential piece for BMW M1 collectors, Procar Series enthusiasts, and Nelson Piquet admirers — one of the most dramatic and visually compelling racing car formats of the late 1970s in 1/12 resin, with period-correct sponsor decal sheet included for collector application.
