BBR BG301B | 1:43 Ferrari 360 N-GT | Super GT 2005 | White | BBR Serie ORO — Ferrari Racing in Japan, in the Inaugural Season of Super GT

The year 2005 was not an ordinary year in Japanese motorsport. It was the year that the All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship — which had run under the JGTC name since 1993 — was reborn as the Super GT Series, the championship that would grow into one of the world's most technically advanced and commercially significant national GT racing series. The first season of Super GT carried all the excitement of a new name and a new era, while preserving the competitive DNA that had made the JGTC one of Asia's most compelling racing championships. Ferrari's presence in that inaugural Super GT season, as it had been throughout the JGTC years, was embodied in the 360 Modena in GT300 specification — a car developed under Japan's unique JAF-GT regulations and driven by teams that had committed years of effort to making a mid-engine Italian sports car competitive on the demanding circuits of Japan.

The Ferrari 360 N-GT carries a specific designation that marks it out from the GT2/GTE racing versions known in European competition. "N-GT" refers to the JAF-GT categorisation used in Japan's domestic championship — a framework that allowed the 360's naturally aspirated 3.6-litre V8 to compete against turbocharged machines from Nissan, Toyota and Honda within a balanced competitive structure. The car's all-aluminium spaceframe chassis, developed in collaboration with Alcoa, was already a significant step forward from conventional steel construction, and in GT300 specification the 360 carried extensive aerodynamic additions — wider bodywork, front and rear aero packages, and revised cooling — while being brought to the 1,100 kg GT300 minimum weight. The engine, Ferrari's Tipo F131B, was kept in largely standard tune — the same philosophy that Ferrari applied to its Challenge programme — with tuning focused on reliability and driveability across the long-distance endurance races that defined the Super GT calendar.

The white livery makes this model immediately distinctive. Ferrari's GT300 entries in Japan most frequently appeared in sponsor-heavy red or dark-coloured liveries, making a clean white car a genuinely unusual and striking visual presence on the Super GT grid. White on the 360's form reveals every aerodynamic detail — the widened wheel arches, the front splitter, the large rear wing, the distinctive mid-engine proportions — with a clarity that the red or dark variants do not permit. It is the colour that shows the race car's engineering most directly.

BBR Models of Saronno — the official model manufacturer of Ferrari, founded in 1984 — renders this Japanese GT300 subject in their Serie ORO format: gold series, hand-built, the highest tier of BBR's 1:43 range. The combination of BBR's Italian craft applied to a Japanese racing subject creates a model that speaks to two distinct collector communities simultaneously. In BBR's plexiglass showcase, brand new and factory sealed.
